What are eye patches?

Eye patches are disposable masks but are shaped to fit the physiognomy of the eye area and are usually made from biocellulose or hydrogel. These patches are infused with essence, a cocktail of very powerful active ingredients that reduce puffiness and dark circles under the eyes.

What do eye patches do?

The main function of the patches is to moisturize and treat the skin under the eyes, a very delicate area with fewer sebaceous glands than the rest of the face and therefore thinner and more prone to dryness or wrinkles and other signs of aging.

How many times should eye patches be applied?

Like masks, they are usually used 2-3 times a week, although if the eye area requires more concentrated daily care, they can be used more often.

How are hydrogel patches used? At what stage of care do they apply?

The use of patches is very simple. Usually this type of product is presented in a jar and is accompanied by a spatula. Use a spatula to separate the patches and apply them to clean, dry skin under the eyes. When you have applied both patches, put the protective cap back on before closing the jar. This will help keep the hydrogel moisturized and fresh, preserving all its properties.

After cleansing and toning skin and before applying moisturizer, apply hydrogel patches under the eyes and remove them when the waiting time is up. When they are removed, a little essence will remain in this area, massage gently so that it is absorbed into the skin.

How long should I keep hydrogel patches?

This time will vary by product, so ideally you should read each brand's instructions before applying them. In any case, 20-30 minutes of use is normal.

Of course, you should not let the essences fully absorb or leave them for more than half an hour, the patches should always maintain a certain humidity at the time of removal.

Can hydrogel eye patches be reused?

No, eye patches, whether hydrogel or biocellulose, are not reusable. This is a disposable product. After we apply them and the essence is absorbed into the skin around the eyes, the patches must be discarded.

Saving them for re-impregnation with whey or other product is a very dangerous practice because after use they come into contact with air and microorganisms. Their repeated use is not at all hygienic, and besides, given their delicate area of application, it is not safe for our eyes.
